Group Joining Trekking

Group joining treks are fixed departures that you join as an individual, couple or small party. You trek with other travellers on a shared itinerary, so the cost of the guide, porters and logistics is spread across the group.

How group joining works

We run Everest-region treks on set dates. You choose a departure, send an enquiry, and the Thamel office confirms the dates, the group size and what is included. You meet the group in Kathmandu for a briefing before the trek begins. Solo travellers are welcome, and many people join alone.

Our group joining treks

Is a group trek right for you?

Good fit: solo travellers, couples and friends who are happy to walk at a shared pace, and people who want the cost shared. Think twice: if you need exact dates, a faster or slower pace than the group, or private lodging, a private trek may suit you better.

FAQs

What is a group joining trek?

A group joining trek is a scheduled departure that you join as an individual or small party. You share the guide, the itinerary and the dates with other trekkers, which lowers the price per person compared with a private trek.

How big are the groups?

Group size is confirmed by our office for each departure, so ask when you enquire. The trip pages show the usual group size.

Can I join a group trek alone?

Yes. Solo travellers are welcome, and you meet the rest of the group in Kathmandu before the trek starts.

What if the group is not full?

Ask the Thamel office before you pay. They confirm whether a departure is running and what happens if the numbers change.

Can I change the dates of a group trek?

Group departures run on fixed dates. If you need different dates, ask about a private trek, which we can plan around your schedule.

Tell us your dates and group size. The Thamel office replies with an itinerary and a clear price.
